Papugai Combines Team At New Bellevue Location
[Papugai, Inc., September 22, 2005]
After nearly two years working on the ideal building project, Papugai has finally aquired its new facility, located just a few blocks northeast of Bellevue's glossy business district.
"We have been planning this move for nearly two years..." said Natasha Lewis, Papugai's CFO. "...but the experience is overwhelming none the less."
Chris Wray, Papugai's VP Technology added, "This move changes everything for Papugai. Now we have the room to add critically-needed staff and concentrate on better throughput for our customers. We have already pre-hired two very impressive individuals for my department and I know that other departments have their eye on expansion as well."
Over the past 17 years, Papugai has occupied five locations. Two in the Queen Anne district of Seattle, one in Mercer Island and two in Bellevue. Each of the Papugai's prior locations have been more homey and creatively-inspired. "This location is certainly more commercial-feeling on the outside, but the construction team at Kovacic Industries (email this awesome contractor) did an outstanding job converting our new offices into a comfortable, homey space," said Matt Lewis, Papugai's senior vp.
The main advantage of this new Papugai facility is the expansion that it will provide. Currently a team of less than 20, Papugai can now comfortably expand to just shy of 40 before space will become an issue. "Well, I don't know about 40 right away," said Bevin Perrine, Papugai's vp operations. "We are happy to grow slowly — but we look forward to having the freedom to expand our team if/when we need to. We have turned down more work this year than we have accepted. This new facility will allow us to say yes to a couple of very appropriate impending projects that really make a lot of sense for this team."
"Working together in a tighter space worked out alright before," added Matt Ballew, creative director and head of Papugai's innovations team. "I mean, we were close — very close — so we communicated quickly and easily, but I would by lying if I said that the new space wasn't far better. Heck, those guys can learn to use IM a little more. I'll be in my new private office if you need me!"
Lewis added, "We expect this new facility to contribute significantly to our projected efficiency gains in 2006. This will mean better economies for us and for our clients in the very short term, and lower costs with shorter project time lines into 2006. Papugai has always been a great value to our clients financially, but this new facility will add to that value in several meaningful ways. 333 _________________________________________________________ For a tour of Papugai's new facility or for more information, please call us at 425-283-0400.
