Papugai ended 2006 and started 2007 on a great note. The launch of the Blue Sky Church website took center stage as one of Papugai’s most notable achievements to date. This client’s needs included challenging design and functionality that was relevant to all of its members, from preteens to senior citizens, but mostly a 20s and 30s crowd.
Papugai, with the help of design-educated Ern Menocal, a pastor at Blue Sky, achieved its messaging and design goals — and then some, and has received rave reviews from church members and beyond. One comment that reached Papugai was, “It’s the best Church website I have ever seen.”
One exciting new feature is the “Blue Sky Calendar.” Church administration has access to the “back end” of the site allowing changes and updates with ease. The calendar (powered by Papugai’s SmartEngage.NET) features searchable events by category, custom unloadable graphics for each event, and an option to email event details to friends. It is also color-coded based on groupings of events, making it easy to navigate and find what event you are looking for.
In the very near future, an online giving functionality will be added, as well as a highly-anticipated searchable Bible (both NIV and King James versions), complete with pastor’s notes and relevant teaching dates linking back to the calendar where past sermons will be downloaded or streamed.
In addition to the calendar and searchable Bible, a fun (and current) feature of the website is the ability to listen to prior teachings as well as live music recorded by the church itself using a Flash-based audio player.
